John 4:35-36

"Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit until life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together"... John 4:35-36

P Day once again....

This mission is anything but boring!  Elder Nellesen's birthday is on Friday!  Rumor has it that the missionaries may be going to President Dube's house for Christmas.  This is where all mail is sent to the Zimbabwe missionaries.  I think Elder Nellesen would love to have a letter from many of us.  Would you write to him using www.dearelder.com?  I'm sure it will help keep his spirits up without his family for Christmas if he can hold a letter from you in his hands.

We love Elder Nellesen....and don't tell him but we miss him very much!

Letters from Zimbabwe

Two weeks of letters from Elder Nellesen and new photos in the "Photos" page.  He's doing great even in his living conditions.  I guess his messy room was to prepare him for poverty living?

Letter from Elder Nellesen

Several photos and a couple letters are new to the blog.  I found his companions mom on a mission mom website this week.  Thank you to them for raising a son who can put up with my son.

Letter from Elder Nellesen

Read Elder Nellesen's letter in the "letters" page and look at the two new photos he sent in the "photos" page.  He's doing much better....aside from bed bugs.

The First Letter from Zimbabwe

We've received our first letter from Elder Nellesen.  He's been in Zimbabwe for 5 days.  He has a bad case of jet lag and bed bugs it sounds like to me.  He needs encouragement.  It's a very hard mission to endure after living in the USA.  God sends his elite to Africa.  That's just my opinion.  Also he would love pictures.

Letter from Elder Nellesen

In "Letters" is posted the latest letter from Elder Nellesen.  He sounds great!  Please continue to write him and pray for him.  On Halloween he will begin his journey to Zimbabwe.  I suppose that we will not hear from him via email until after he gets settled there.  However when he travels to Zimbabwe he will be able to call home on layovers.  We're excited for that.

The First Letter...

Much anticipated.  It seemed like it took a long time to hear from Elder Nellesen.  His Preparation Day (aka P Day) is on Tuesday at the MTC.  This is the day we will hope to hear from him and update the blog.  He is asking for letters from loved ones....that includes you!  The easiest way is to use Dear Elder, it's a free service.  The information is on the blog home page.

Let the Adventures Begin!

He never looked back....I'm taking it as a sign that he's comfortable about where he's going!
I hope we didn't over pack him....I already know that we did :)
New Photos are posted in the "Photos" page.

A Change of MTC locations!

A call came that Dustin is to report to the Provo MTC on October 12th instead of the Johannesberg, South Africa MTC on October 13th.  The South Africa MTC is full.  The work is Africa is very successful, thus the Lord is sending many young men there.  When we get this information officially we'll update the mailing addresses.

The Lucky People are....

Dustin was called to serve in the Harare, Zimbabwe mission.  He will report to the Johannesburg, South Africa Mission Training Center (MTC) on October 13, 2011.  We have plenty to do to prepare him for the next two years.

The Envelope Arrived!

Today Dustin's mission call was delivered.  Our mail lady's son is a friend to Brittany, he told her that the call was here.  In turn Brittany called me and told me it was delivered.  I'm not sure if Brittany knew before Dustin or vise versa.  Either way we have an unopened envelope with Dustin's destiny inside it.  He won't open it for two more days since he's waiting for Brittany and Hailey's arrival to open it.  Who will be the lucky people that get to spend the next two years with him?
